Forest Overlook Residence

The Forest Overlook Residence was designed for a retired couple relocating from the city in search of simplicity, nature, and performance. Their vision: a home that disappears into the hillside but opens entirely to the tree canopy.

We crafted a single-story design with an open central living space and private wings for work and rest. Using Passive strategies, the south-facing glass wall delivers solar gain in winter, while overhangs offer protection in summer.

The home is fully electric, with triple-pane windows, reclaimed hemlock beams, and a rooftop terrace that places them in the trees they love.
